The Story

Arianna Cappellini was born in a small town, near the Tuscan city of Pistoia. Their parents who wanted to redeem themselves from a state of simplicity and poverty. Two “lions” she said, two ambitious, united and fighting people. Their determination brought to the birth of a company producing sofas and armchairs, which slowly, in the 70s, led them to reach a status quo since always desidered. Both passed away between 2019 and 2020, leaving a deep void behind, and a great legacy: the desire to do something, to create something for themselves.

“I started working on my project, after almost 20 years work as a styling-artbuyer, in short as the one who works alongside the photographer for the creation of photographic images for various sales catalogs, for furniture field customers. It was and it is a fun and very, very creative job. It is about recreating small or large environments around the object, protagonist of the scene, researching the decorative elements called “props”. I had to go for shops, for warehouses, for companies, always looking for the right object to create the right atmosphere. Often it happened to me to also design the entire catalog and the various photo shots.

Around 2018, I felt the need to “do” something for me. During my styling activity, I often used wallpaper, as a decoration, for walls that created the set. It also happened to buy an object made of this material. I was struck by the fact that it was an object of daily use, made with a material that was not really born to be handled, but that was born to be fixed to a wall, and to remain there for the time that is deemed necessary. In 2018, therefore, following this push of “doing something” for me, I started creating small objects: ornamental decorations, earrings, necklaces. But the main goal was to create a special bag, one “adorned” and precious, for women.

Tilde & Flor was born just like this, an entirely fantasy name, female, as well as the name of my bags, all name of artists, singers, painters…”

Wallpaper is a fantastic, infinite, wonderful, fascinating world. There are so many types of wallpaper. The one I use for my products, especially for bags, is the thicker vinyl wallpaper, more resistant especially to humidity and water. The bags are made according to my project and sewn by an artisan company in the field of leather goods, so they are built like all the bags currently on the market. Reinforced and lined and with decorative elements, ranging from bamboo handle, to resin chain, which becomes a handle. Fabrics like linings also recovered from leftover or waste material. Furthermore every bag is cruelty free.

The gem is that each bag has to be a unique piece, above all because each bag it is made with sheets of wallpaper, recovered from the sales catalogs, abandoned by the manufacturing companies, which I started to recover, in the trimmings shops.

What’s so special?

My creations are all unique pieces, there is no piece like the other. They are original, in the form and details, because of the material that dresses them. The project foresees the reuse of the material that comes from the disused catalogs, and therefore they are bags that follow a civic sense in reusing material that would be thrown away.

Furthermore, and not least, they are light, and we -women- know how annoying heavy bags are, which are then filled up to become very heavy objects.

My passion comes from wanting to test myself, from wanting to create something beautiful that came from my ideas, my creativity, and the desire to redeem the great work done by my parents, as a small businesswoman.


The difficulties are always around the corner… The biggest difficulty for me is the production. Mine is very very limited precisely because they are all unique pieces and because Tilde&Flor was born and still has to make itself known. The production I said, is and has been a big obstacle, both for the manpower and for the costs. Now I hope to have met the artisan company that has decided to marry my project. I’m happy.


Expand the sales network. And above all to pass the concept, that the wallpaper bag is not a bag that is ruined precisely because of paper, but it can be a bag like the others with its strengths and weaknesses. It is also a unique and special object and never the same.



My advice

Never give up, have courage, believe in your own ideas, and above all jump into adventure with one foot anchored to the ground, however 🙂

For now I look at the present, with an eye to the future.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Giuseppe Marano, a Sicilian-born photographer, grown up in the province of Catania, between Misterbianco and Valcorrente countrysides. I love the Light, Nature, Scents, my Land, the dream I have to get where I want, I love the music and in general perceptions, senses… I like to lose myself in the joy that it is possible to discover in an smell, or to discover a music that makes me travel with the mind. Photography is for me the synthesis, the opportunity to try to capture everything, this world, in and out of me.

How did your passion / your job start?

My passion is a bit the sign of fate. The encountered with it started in a laboratory of photojournalism at the Humanities University of Catania. During the fascinating lectures of the photojournalist Angelo Di Giorgio from Catania, listening to the stories of the great photographers of the past (William Eugene Smith above all) I felt that feeling in my stomach that made me say: I want to do this. Until then I had never had awareness of the photographic medium that soon would have become a major language to know and discover parts of me that I ignored.

Why weddings?

Marriages were a natural evolution of my need to tell stories. Many people think they are a second-best, I see them as an important part of my vision and my need to photograph. Thanks to continuous weddings I can travel to Italy and abroad and I have met stories and exceptional people. It fascinates me so much the anthropological aspects that hide behind weddings. I love to observe people’s behavior and the differences that I discover at each new location. They are a mix of tradition, habit, ritual and religion.

Your biggest achievement so far / your biggest disappointment

There are several achievements in the recent years, which surprised and excited me. I can not choose one, but there are several moments that feeded my dream: from the scholarship that brought me to New York to the articles published recently by “Huffington Post” and “La Repubblica”, through the selection of one of my projects (“Finché Morte non Ci Separi”) to Tbilisi Photo Festival, up to the trip that brought me in November to shoot an amazing wedding in the Caribbean, in the Turks & Caicos where I had the honor to follow important filmmakers.
The biggest disappointment? I do not know, again I do not remember one in particular, but several discussions where my expectations were revealed highest of my ability to do. They have been key moments where either I could give in or find the spirit to move forward and go beyond. I never gave up.

In your wonderful photos there is the true Italy, the one with countrysides, the antique furnitures and houses that recall the tradition… a deliberate choice? and if it’s so, why?

Years pass and I realize I have a strong melancholy mark inside me. I love life and I wish I could keep alive all those feelings that I find in my path. After all photography it’s needed for this reason, to take care of our fear of losing important moments. Objects and subjects of my photographs are a consequence of this desire, I am never fully awake of it when I click, often the meaning of what I do comes later, and there are cases in which it takes years before I understand the meaning of a given photo. I think those photos are the result of my desire to be always in touch with my origin, my roots, a way to remind me who I am and where I come from.

The morning you wake up and what is usually the first thought?

Often, very often it is a thought projected into the future, wanting to find out where I can still get and what this new day sets aside. My mother instilled me this need to look ahead and never settle for anything less in life: the risk is to never be satisfied, but when you find the balance then you discover that this is the driving force of wanting always improve itself.

There is a phrase that you repeat like a mantra when you’re in trouble or to go on?

Particularly when I am under pression, maybe because of an important job, I try to reconnect myself to that most intimate and instinctive part of me that, for some reasons I can not explain, at the end allows me to make the photos I make. I try to transmit confidence repeating to myself: you just have to watch what is happening around you.

I look at your photos and I see poetry and the past, the delicacy in representing moments of normal life that seem rare paintings… How much work is behind it and how much love it takes to get such special results?

The first years I did many researches: I read portfolio reviews, books, I visited different exhibitions. All these have helped me to understand that it was necessary to become estranged from everything and try to connect me with myself, understand what my “obsessions” that are the outcome of this personal historical moments in which we live. Several times I was told: I do not see Giuseppe Marano in these photos. Then I worked trying to give an answer to that question, that was my biggest thought. The rest is the result of a lot of determination and perseverance, fundamental elements to accomplish their dreams. I have worked hard over the years to simplify and release, that ideal path mentioned by Cartier-Bresson: eyes and heart.

How to face life and work?

I always try to face it head on, not looking for escape routes and I like to deal with problems and solve them, not leave them aside or avoid them. I am since always sure that only improving as a man could make me been a better photographer, so even before making workshops or photography courses, I took care to keep the peace within me, figuring out who I am and where I want to go.

PAWS UP! Charity Event

PAWS UP! was founded by two group of animal lovers who aims to lend an extra hand to animal shelters who are in need for an extra boost to raise awareness for the good work they do. They believe that by channeling our love to animals, makes us a better and tolerant society.

Currently, PAWS Animal Welfare Society, a local shelter fostering over 500 abandoned animals is adopted charity for PAWS UP. Their hope is to find these animals a permanent home!


About PAWS Animal Shelter Malaysia

PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society) was founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. Through their generosity and imagination, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land on the Subang Airport Road. The organisation depends entirely on the generosity of the public through donations or proceeds from charitable events organised and run by volunteers.

PAWS UP! Malaysia’s first shelter community project by two animal lovers em- “barks” (all pun intended) on its second photography fundraiser for the shelter dogs series entitled “Woof of PAWS Street”.

As part of its campaign, PAWS UP! a community project co-founded by Restauranteur Lyn Siew of Ruyi & Lyn and GoBear Malaysia’s Marketing Head, Amelia Lim organized the first of the two-part series to showcase collective works of rescued cats that were up for adoption from PAWS in a different light. The  first installment entitled “Paws Up! Meow Around the City” in collaboration, Zungz Photography raised RM10,000 through the auction of 13 photographs.

This second series will feature 20 of man’s best friend. Shot by Kim Mun, whose works has graced many local as well as International magazines and also print commercials for Malaysia, China and Vietnam.

  His back to basic in his style of photography, goes right to the heart of the subject he shoots thus bringing out their truest and most natural emotions which reveals in his works.

Held at RUYI&LYN in Bangsar Shopping Centre, this cocktail evening encourages “competitive compassion” where the photographs will go to the highest bidder. As part of this cause, cocktail sponsor, Ruyi & Lyn, printer and framers- Colorific Printers, Creative Design Agency – Option 5, Extreme Limousines and GoBear Malaysia generously sponsored their time and resources toward the cause.

“This is indeed a different way to showcase our shelter dogs in a different setting. Kim Mun’s simplicity in photography really brought out the undiminishing spirit of our shelter dogs. We were greatly encouraged by the generosity of the supporters in the first round and we are looking forward to a great night with the founders and supporters of PAWS UP!” says Chia Ern Leong, Shelter’s Administrator, PAWS Animal Shelter Malaysia.

paws6“PAWS UP advocates “The Mutual Rescue” concept because we believe that rescued animals are more than just a pet. They are educators of life’s lessons: they teach honesty, loyalty and unconditional love. They hold an integral role in society as lifelong companions and therapists to the less fortunate” says Lyn Siew, co-founder of PAWS UP!

In 2017, PAWS UP! looks to expanding it initiative with bigger plans and beside advocating pressing issues such as the compulsory micro-chipping of pets nationwide, PAWS UP! is now on a lookout for a donated piece of land to run a self-sufficient mutual rescue animal shelter.

The urgent plight of shelter animals that are in need of adoption is high and where even more animals (these are the lucky ones) are left at the doorsteps of the shelters. The hope is that one day we can move to a society where shelters are no longer a necessity.

Kreativ Wedding is made with love. Love is fire- branded in their logo, such is their credo. And when something is conducted with passion, the outcome can be nothing else than perfect. kreativwedding4

Anne Aselmann is a photographer, and Riccardo Fasoli is a videographer, but defining them as such is reductive. When I met them for the first time, I saw in their eyes the passion for their work, an open flame that in any context truly makes a difference.

“It all occurred by chance, we felt chosen by the “wedding universe”.  We would have never thought that this could be our final working environment.”

Anne is a designer and a passionate photographer established from her university background. Riccardo on the other hand was a former eyeglass designer with different hobbies; ranging from design, technology, to storytelling. Both were invited to a friend’s wedding in 2011 and there it was; destiny indicated them the way.

“Anne and I went there equipped as common guests with a simple handycam and a reflex. Once back home, we looked at the content we created; a small photo gallery and a short video of the day. The bride’s response was unexpected; she told us that the pictures were much better than the ones made by the photographer they hired and so they wanted our pictures as official pictures for their albums. She watched the video at least 3 times before being able to watch it without crying.

kreativwedding2The quality of the content we gave her was far from what we are able to produce today, but that experience gave us the incentive to try, and in 2012 we were the official team for 2 friends’ weddings; that offered us the opportunity to launch ourselves and we were recruited by 35 couples in 2013 and 64 couples in 2014. Altogether we received 1000 demands in 2014.”

Kreativ Wedding has been recruited in Thailand, Hong Kong and Caraibi, adding more wedding reports to the ones produced in Germany, not so far from their residence home in Dusseldorf. Thanks to their style, the romantic shoots from Anne − a beautiful and charming woman that captures not only seconds but emotions – and the videos created by Riccardo, the emphasis is not only on a wedding celebration but in the union of two soul mates that meet and become one. Pure poetry narrated in a timeless allure.

The work they do is intense, full of dedication and commitment.

“Being a photographer at a wedding is not easy. You are involved in one of the most important days of a person’s life, and even if you don’t belong to that day you become one of the closest people, and bear testimony of their most intimate moment…We have to be ready to catch a lot of aspects and emotions: hugs, laughs, smiles, tears, kisses… our style in filming and photographing is not a classic one but we maintain a photojournalistic footprint; you will never hear from us say “ehy, watch here or there, stand there and smile”, instead we try to be attentive, and  invisible among the crowd with the utmost discretion. A lost moment is lost and that it is.

Our pictures are made of real moments; they must have an analogic appearance, not digital, even though they come out from a DSLR. The videos must tell a story in a cinematographic way, like a movie. Riccardo loves creating films, and that feeling of “butterflies in the stomach” wins when the mix between music and the scene get to the perfect union, meanwhile Anne loves it when she is able to immortalize the couple in that harmony, “where the world feels it’s like only you and me”. kreativweddiing3

“We do love our jobs because we are surrounded by happy people, we love the reactions of our couples when we deliver our product, but most of all we love the idea that our product will be alive throughout the years.”

We would love to introduce a power couple, Eileen and Pierre, a thrilling duo located in Berlin that seduced us with their captivating pictures… They will drive you to an enchanted world.


Could you tell us more about the story of your collaboration?

We have known each other for many years now and started to work together on a nude project several years ago. During that project we discovered that we have two things in common: the way we work with people and a similar notion of how an image should be composed or aesthetically designed. We contribute different skills and sometimes different opinions but our collaboration is based on a solid ground of trust and joint evaluations of every step and every process. The best thing about working as a duo is that we encourage each other to elaborate elicit the best possible result. After Eileen graduated in Design in 2012 we started to built up our own studio.

Why fashion?

Fashion (photography) is basically a repetitive collection of gestures, shapes and styles. We love the creative, sometimes disturbing aspect of it more than the luxury & lifestyle it promises.

In fashion photography we learnt a lot about working in a big team, different light setups, organization of editorial shoots and elaborating our own style of images. Very quickly we found out that we’re most interested in creating a new look for every shoot and working on conceptual projects with different collaborators.

What about your academic background?

Eileen graduated in Design and I studied philosophy, literature and design, but never graduated. Our academic backgrounds are only on the periphery of our everyday work. Most of what we do photographically is self-taught and the result of a strong experimental curiosity.

Berlin, known also as “The place to be”, is really the right place to be and realize your dream? Could another city or country give you more than Berlin in term of incitement? How is the competition in the photography industry in Berlin?

What makes Berlin fascinating for us is that it seems to never run out of incompleteness. The city is flooded with many talented, creative people from all kinds of disciplines every year and although it’s changing and it’s getting harder to find tumble-down houses and spots to built up alternative exhibition spaces, bars or even residencies, it seems that the city also never runs out of people who have crazy, new ideas of possible alternative lifestyles.

Maybe another city could be a better place to work and get paid accordingly. Maybe another city could be the right place to get together with even more talented and internationally networking and working people. But Berlin is the right city to dream because it provides the means to live easily and free.

There are a lot of excellent photographers located in Berlin. But we don’t think of them in a competitive sense, rather as inspirations. It’s wonderful to be inspired by other artists, writers, scientists.

Interesting and fascinating collaborations you have started so far?

The first project, SKINWALKER, which developed as a collaboration between the artist Diana Wehmeier and us, started out as an experiment to blur the lines between painting and photography and evolved as a series, which included a performance piece with dancers and a musician. It culminated in our first solo exhibition last year at Galerie Irrgang. We continued the collaboration by creating another interdisciplinary video / performance installation with Diana Wehmeier at a Science / Art Festival last year.The video will be presented again in April at the gallery.

It’s cheerful to bring different disciplines together to change the atmosphere in a certain space. We are very grateful for the opportunity to work with the extraordinary artist Diana Wehmeier for two incomparable years. Also we love to work with dancers, because a dance performance can transport expressions to the viewer more directly. No photography or video can get even close to the notion you get when you experience a live dance performance.

Which are the main obstacles/challenges encountered in these years since you have opened your studio?

The main part of our everyday work, maybe 80% of what we’re doing, has nothing to do with taking photographs. But you have to love organizing, communicating with different people, get together at several events, acquiring new jobs etc. to work as photographer.

Sometimes it can take 48h in order to get everything prepared and organized accordingly. Maybe one of the main obstacles we have had to face was the realization that you are responsible for a healthy, so-called “work/life – balance”. Your work cannot be half-hearted, but you can also lose focus if you don’t pause your workflow once in a while.

The goal or goals you would like to reach in the future.

There are many artists we would like to work with. We have new ideas we would like to carry out in the upcoming years. There are also some magazines and galleries where we would like to be published and exhibited. But on a long-term perspective, we just wanna keep on doing what we do. Maybe build up a bigger studio, but simply keep on creating and elevating.
